The popular Ross-on-Wye Beer and Cider Festival is returning on the early May Bank Holiday weekend.

Based at Ross Rowing Club and known as “Rossbeerfest” the event opens at midday on Saturday 30th April and runs on both the Saturday and Sunday 1st May. There will be a good mixture of indoors and outdoors, so when the sun is shining the tables outside by the river are inviting, while in the cooler evening the large tented ‘beerhall’ will have heating to help keep the chill away.

The festival will feature locally brewed beers and ciders, and with the ever-favourite fruit ciders returning too, there promises to be something to suit all tastes. Craft lager has also proved popular, so it is hoped that there will be some available at the event. Add to that, there will also be the glittery Prosecco Bar! And just to make things perfect there will be the very popular ‘posh’ toilets too!

The outdoor enclosure will be the place to listen to the full programme of bands and musicians on both days. Playing on Saturday will be Garrington T Jones, Heath Band, 13 Rivers , The Cherrystones, Candy Mountain and headliners, Amaretto Lounge, who will be on stage from 10pm to the close at 11pm.

The Sunday programme comprises Huw Knight & Viv Bell, Johnny Ragwort & Guest, Dodgy Connection, The Yarp Band, The Barebacks, and  the popular band ‘Fired Up’ will create a fitting finale from 8.30 – 10pm . All musicians are listed on the website www.rossbeerfest.org with links to the artist’s sites. Further details can also be found on the Rossbeerfest Facebook page

Ross Rowing Club will be providing food to raise funds for their sport and activities. They have also provided camping facilities in their adjoining fields, which can be booked at www.rossrowingclub.co.uk.

Tickets for one day cost £6 for adults, which not only provides entry but also a free beer glass and beer guide. Under 18s can be admitted for £1 but only during daylight hours and if they are supervised by an adult. Sessions run from 12 noon – 11pm on Saturday and 12 noon – 10pm on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rossbeerfest.org and from Miles Morgan travel, Café Eleganza and the Lions shop in the centre of Ross.

The event has many sponsors, including main sponsor, Morris Bricknell.

Rossbeerfest is a Charity event, organised jointly by Ross-on-Wye Lions and Rotary Clubs with the support of many local volunteers and local sponsors for the benefit of their charitable projects.
