Ross Juniors U8 Colts
Ross Juniors U8 Colts played Leominster Town U8 at the Sports Centre on Saturday morning.
The boys came flying out of the traps, some good team work from Freddie and Rui seen Rui cross to James to open the scoring.
James, Rui and Freddie were constantly attacking and pressing the Leominster defence, some great work from the 3 seen Rui score his hat trick in the 1st 15 minutes. Leominster were then able to add a few extra players on the pitch, but this didn’t phase Ross and they kept pressing.
Jay was solid at the back and Vlad who had little to do kept his clean sheet in tact. A few changes before half time seen both Harry and Alfie getting their names on the scoresheet.
The 2nd half started like the 1st with Ross on the attack, William was get stuck in and was sprinting down the line with the ball looking to add to the goals.
Rui added another brace with Freddie and James also hitting the back of the net after some good team build-up from Jasper, Jay and Vlad.
Leominster attacked and managed to grab a goal back, Sam was unlucky between the sticks and managed to get a hand to the ball but it wasn’t enough.
Both Jasper and Jay started attacking and both were unlucky not to score. The last 5 seen William, Harry and Alfie nearly scoring, Rui hitting the post twice before another brace and a fine goal from James finished the game.
It was a really tough call for Man of the Match, but in the end it had to go to Rui for his 7 goals.
Ross Juniors U11 Colts
The U11 Colts made the trip to Ewyas Harold on Saturday morning in what turned out to be a very entertaining game.
Ross started quickly, firstly with a goal from a corner following a great delivery from Billy and then an excellent finish from Reagan. Ewyas Harold responded well and were soon rewarded with a very well worked goal of their own.
As the game went on Ewyas Harold became more dominant and this brought about three further goals. Ross had it all to do to turn the game around and full credit they did. Goals from Josh and Aidan concluded the game in what was an exciting and well mannered game.
Ross Juniors U10’s
Ross Juniors U10s booked their place in the county cup semi-finals with a hard fought win away at Ledbury Athletic on Saturday.
Tyron put Ross ahead with a well worked corner routine with Riley, and the two boys combined again for Tyron to double the visitor’s lead. Ledbury pulled a goal back with a great finish midway through the first half but Ross responded well forcing the Ledbury keeper into save after save, before a great left foot strike from Euan put Ross two ahead again. Ledbury continued to put pressure on the Ross defence and looked certain to score another just before the break, but Morgan bravely dived at the feet of the attacker to snuff out the chance.
Both teams continued to give their all in a physical second half. Annabelle went close to scoring her first goal for Ross before Tyron completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after he had been bundled over. Ross then added two quick goals with Euan getting his second before Jasper beat the Ledbury keeper at their near post to give Ross a comfortable cushion as they entered the last 10 minutes. Credit to Ledbury that they never stopped working and had it not been for a vital tackle from Zak and two great saves from Ben in goal they could have scored more goals. Ross went close to adding another goal late on after a fantastic run and pass from Owen fell to Timmy but his shot was well saved by the Ledbury keeper.
Ross Juniors U8 Juniors
Under 8 Juniors hosted Pegasus on Saturday morning which turned out to be a fantastic game of football.
Both sides were straight into the action defence attack, attack defence but Ross came out stronger and took the lead through Luke. This was a great match up between the sides in a step up in format to 7 v 7 and soon Pegasus scored to level it up.
The game was evenly matched but Ross kept knocking on the door and pressure paid off with Harry hitting the back of the net. Ross continued to play great football and got a third through Chase. This was a great team performance and the mom went to Luke for his rock solid performance and work rate.

Ross Juniors Wildcats
It was a tremendous morning of football on Sunday for the youngest wildcats against great friends at Tupsley.
The girls have only ever had two training sessions, but that was not a problem for them. The girls, some as young as 5, all did superbly against some very talented girls from Tupsley.
They all played with a smile on their face throughout and all showed some great skills, passes, shots and saves.
Ross Juniors U11 Girls
The new U11s team played the U10 Junior girls in a great 9v9 match on Sunday morning.
The U10 girls were playing their first ever game on a 9v9 pitch and did superb, causing numerous problems for the U11s defence to deal with.
Both teams managed to score and the goalscorers were Lily, Cara and Neve.
Special mention to Evie in the U10 goal who was absolutely exceptional, commanding her area throughout and make some stunning saves.
U11 girl of the match was Cara for her quick feet and mazy dribbles. All of the team did superb and are really enjoying their football.
The U11s girls were delighted after to receive their new hoodies thanks to the continual generous sponsorship from Command Alkon.

Ross Juniors U13 Boys
Ross Juniors U13s boys entertained Presteigne on Sunday in the quarter finals of the cup, and what a match it turned out to be.
An evenly contested first half saw both sides go close to opening the scoring. The breakthrough finally came for Ross as Luca scored a fine goal after going on a mazy run.
The 2nd half again was a very tense with Presteigne giving as good as they got, and this paid off when the were awarded a penalty for handball. The Presteigne player kept his cool to level it up 1-1. With neither side giving an inch, the game went into extra time.
Ross kept pushing but it looked like penalties would have to decide it. However, Noah had other ideas and with 3 minutes to go he caught a cross on the half volley perfectly as the ball sailed into the top corner. Presteigne tried to battle back once more but Ross held on to win the game 2-1 and take their place in the semifinals.
Credit to Presteigne for playing so well, but this was a superb all round team performance from Ross with every single player digging deep to get the result.
Ross Juniors U10 Boys Colts
Ross Juniors U10 Boys Colts enjoyed a tough, competitive game away to Westfields Juniors on Saturday.
Westfields dominated the early stages and deservedly took the lead midway through the first half. Ross gradually got back in to the game and looked a threat from corners and free-kicks taken by Zachary. From one free kick Rhys was close to volleying in. Ross equalised when Bobby pressed the defence, pinched the ball and coolly finished. Westfields took the lead again just before the break.
In the second half Ross defended well through Mario, Ethan and Dan and Corey made two good saves. As the game went on Ross played some great football and Bobby, Zachary and Harry were a threat going forward. Despite a goal from Harry from another excellent Zachary cross, Westfields scored twice more.
Despite the result, the second half in particular was one of the team’s strongest performances this season. Well played to all boys involved.

They worked incredibly hard and were shattered by the end. The team show great promise for the next season.
Ross Juniors U15’s
Ross under 15s travelled over to Malvern on Sunday afternoon to play Bransford Badgers.
Bransford Badgers started well and put Ross under lots of pressure early in the game but Ross held firm with some good defending and started to grow into the match. Ross started to have some great attacks with good link ups between Jake and Tye and then a long throw in from Tye was put away nicely by Fin who had another strong performance. A long range effort from Bill just went over and Ross finished the first half 1 up.
Second half Bransford again stared well but it wasn’t long before Ross started to create more chances again. An amazing dribling run from Eddie battled his way through the defence to score a great goal. Tyes flick on from a corner at the front post was put away by Eddie for his second. Then Tye got a well see deserved goal using his pace to get round the last defender to score. Owen was keeping the Badgers at bay with some superb saves which had him receiving applause from around the pitch on a number of occasions. Unfortunately a late penalty for the Badgers took away his clean sheet but he still put in a brilliant display in goal. The defence were rock solid at the back today with Ollie, Harry, Tom and Luca all putting in strong performances.
Ross finished up winning 4-1 with another great team performance from everyone.
