A protest took place this evening, Monday 9th August, against the pollution and destruction of the River Wye.

The event was organised by Angela Jones from SwimWildWye, and was attended by approximately 100 people.

Impassioned speeches were made demanding action and asking people to use their voice to speak up for our river and to write to their local MP.

Following the speeches a procession of a coffin with the words, Death of the Wye written along the side, took place along the river bank from the Riverside canoe launch to the pebble beach by the Rowing Club.

The coffin, a visual to show how serious this issue is, was then towed along the river by Angela which was accompanied by two grim reapers with many other swimmers following behind.
