New solar panels for Ross care agency
Ashfield Care Ltd, based on the Chase Industrial Estate, had 16 new solar panels installed on their offices last week thanks to a renewable energy grant.
It is estimated that the solar panels will generate around 4,600kwh of electricity each year, which represents a saving of around 1.4 tonnes of CO2.
The solar panel installation was possible thanks to a grant which funded half the cost. The grant programme is funded by Marches Renewable Energy. MarRE is a grant scheme allowing eligible applicants based in the Marches to apply for a 50% grant towards new installations of renewable technologies on their premises. The scheme is distributed by Herefordshire Council.
Ashfield Care Ltd have a team of 25 carers who provide care to approximately 50 people in their homes in and around Ross-on-Wye all year round. The company has been looking at ways to reduce their carbon footprint, and this initiative has helped them in that process.
