Fire crews attended a large fire involving hay bales last night, Friday 30th July, in the field below Tank Meadow in Ross-on-Wye.

The fire was well alight when crews arrived and they did a fantastic job of keeping it contained. With the dry weather we have had it could have easily have spread. Crews remained on scene throughout the night.

A crew is still on scene this morning (Saturday) with the burnt remains still smouldering.

West Mercia Police have said that arson is suspected and they are asking anyone with information to email rossonwye.snt@westmercia.police.uk
