Community Garden to become Talk Community Hub
In May of this year, the Community Garden is preparing to become a Talk Community Hub. It will become a place where local residents will be able to access information and activities to support their wellbeing and independence.
The initiative is supported by Herefordshire Council, but run by volunteers from the local community who are trained to guide residents towards a wide range of wellbeing related information.
The Hub will run a drop-in at the Garden in Old Gloucester Rd, Monday-Saturday 10.30am-12noon.
Tim Shelley, Project Leader of the garden project, told Ross-on-line: “We are incredibly excited about launching this initiative. It’s a wonderful opportunity to open up the garden to even more local residents and to work in partnership with Herefordshire Council.
“We are hoping the garden will be a more relaxed and informal setting to access information and have a confidential conversation with someone.”
The project is looking for 10-12 people who can volunteer 2.5 hours a week. Training will be provided by Herefordshire Council and each volunteer will need to have a DBS Check. If you are interested or would like further information, please contact Tim Shelley: tim.shelley@haygrove.co.uk
