Year 11 students finish the year at John Kyrle in style
The year 11 leavers’ day at John Kyrle High School was an event filled with fun, joy and friendship.
Students signed t-shirts, took lots of photos and attended the leavers’ assembly in the morning, where awards were given out and speeches made by Headteacher, Mr Griffiths, Mrs Gunter, head of year and others.
Alongside this was incredible poetry and musical performances by the students themselves. In the afternoon, it was onto the field for the ‘party in the park’ where the Alliance in Partnership canteen staff catered for the year group with a barbecue, and inflatable obstacle courses were set up. Students also had their photos taken on the red carpet in true Hollywood style!
The school expressed their thanks to Morrisons, Megabounce, Aliance in Partnership, and Capture this Moment Photography for the generous contributions towards making the day such a success. As well the JKHS site staff, music department and the Year 11 team for all of the hard work which they put into the day.
Mr Griffiths said: ‘This has been a remarkable year group in what was a remarkable year.” He said he had watched the students grow from the pupils who arrived at the school in Year 7 to the commendable young people they are today. “They are a credit to the school and their families and I am proud to be their headteacher.”
