Ross-on-Wye Marks Remembrance Day with Augmented Reality
For this week only to mark Remembrance Day, Ross-on-Wye’s The Museum Without Walls exhibit surrounds the local monuments with augmented poppies.
Watch the colours and flowers come to life around the outdoor museum whilst they bring a new dimension to the ancient monuments.
By using augmented reality (AR) to bring back lost aspects of the town’s past, AR allows the town to construct digital, animated, three-dimensional representations of buildings and other objects that have been lost to time.
Using a smart phone or tablet visitors can easily download the virtual tour and walk around the town as they learn some of the history and see some of it as it once was.
The poppies are limited to this week only and to see it you need to download the app. Instructions are on the website www.museumwithoutwalls.uk and on signage at The Prospect entrance at St Mary’s Church.
