Wilton Road, from the junctions of Wye Street, and Royal Parade, from the Royal Hotel to the Wilton Road junction, will be closed next month to allow the council to carry out rock face maintenance work.

The road will be closed from 22nd March with a diversion in place along Wye Street.

Herefordshire Council said: “The closure is required due to rockface maintenance works being carried out on or near the road, and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. There are exemptions in the order to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicle access at the discretion of Herefordshire Council) to any land or frontage to the highway affected where there is no other form of access.”

Work is expected to take a week, however the public notice states that the road would be closed until the work has been completed.
