Pupils were welcomed back to John Kyrle High School today after easing of lockdown restrictions, with an attendance of 98%.
The school tested 1192 pupils (85% of students) last Thursday and Friday and yesterday in preparation for their return. There were no positive results.
In a letter to parents and carers Headteacher, Nigel Griffiths, said: “It was fantastic to see so many students and staff this morning. I spent some time welcoming people at the school gate and had a walk around earlier. Everyone is very positive. Students are following our instructions in relation to remaining in bubbles, using the one-way system, hand hygiene and new requirements for wearing masks. Students told me they had missed their friends and their teachers. We missed them.”
