Police appeal for witnesses following fatal collision
A man has died following a two-vehicle collision in Upper Lydbrook this afternoon, Saturday 18th July.
Police were called at 1.50pm to a report of a serious collision between a Hyundai car and a BMW motorcycle on the A4136.
Emergency services attended and a 53-year-old man from Gloucester was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin and the coroner have been informed. No one else was injured.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The surrounding roads were closed for a number of hours whilst collision investigators remained at the scene and are due to be reopened around 8pm this evening.
The National Police Air Service also assisted at the scene.
Officers investigating the collision are keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage or who witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to police.
Officers would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the vehicles travelling on the A4136 prior to the collision. These are described as a white Hyundai SUV and a red, white and black BMW motorcycle.
