Ross Juniors Football Club and the Sports Centre have issued a plea to members of the public to be more considerate when using the grounds.

A spokesperson said: “It’s great to see so many people using our beautiful pitches for football or exercise in this glorious weather.

“The club spends a lot of money on maintaining the grounds particularly after the flooding and we owe a gratitude to Rob our groundsman for all his brilliant work.

“In the last few days bags of litter have been collected by one of our coaches, Carl. Sharp objects and broken glass have been found on the football pitches where kids play. There is even been a bike ramp made using our mats and tree branches on the talbots, which we have had to dismantle. It’s dangerous and ruining the pitches. Thanks to Carlos Roberto for his generosity in clearing up for others and giving his own time up.

“There are many responsible users of the pitches, and we would like to say thank you.

“For the few that are not behaving responsibly please use the grounds like the rest of us, respect having this open space to use for free and take your litter with you, it’s not difficult!“
