Opportunity to become a Ross-on-Wye Town Councillor
Ross-on-Wye Town Council is looking for a new councillor following the recent resignation of Cllr Becky Howson.
The position is for the North Ward area with anyone interested in filling the vacancy is being asked to write to the Town Clerk by 12 noon on Monday 15th August.
Public elections won’t be held until 2023 but for the interim period the Council may fill the vacancy by co option. Candidates will be invited to attend the September Council meeting to make a three minute presentation outlining why they feel they would make a good councillor.
Applicants must
• be over 18
• be a British Citizen, an eligible Commonwealth Citizen or a Citizen of any member state of the European Union
• reside in or within 3 miles of the parish
• not be subject to a Bankruptcy Restrictions Order or interim order
• not have been sentenced to a three month or more imprisonment within a five year period
• not be on the sex offenders’ register
