NEWS | Mayor officially opens new Ross-on-Wye development
On Saturday (01 April), David Wilson Homes officially opened the doors to its show homes and sales office at The Orchards — with the support of Ross-on-Wye Mayor, Ed O’Driscoll.
At a community event, the mayor officially declared the development open with the cutting of the ribbon — meaning a variety of 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom homes are now available to buy.
Though framed by rolling hills and open fields, The Orchards is only a 4-minute drive from the town centre — while being within the catchment area of various great schools and boasting excellent commuter links to the M50 and A40.
What’s more, David Wilson’s new-build houses are designed to be up to 63% more energy-efficient than Victorian properties — with modern-day improvements potentially saving new buyers up to £3,100** per year on bills.
Plus, renovating a typical 3-bedroom house could cost buyers anywhere between £76,900 to £138,800*** vs. a new build which is ready to be enjoyed from the moment of completion.
Richard Lawson, Sales Director for David Wilson Homes South Wales, said: “We’re pleased to be bringing 5-star quality, sustainable homes to Herefordshire.
“Each home comes with solar panels as standard, with EV chargers installed on selected homes — in line with our commitment to sustainability, which is of the utmost importance to our buyers.
“Understanding our customers’ needs is something we pride ourselves on — having been awarded a maximum five-star rating for the 14th consecutive year in the 2023 Home Builders Federation Customer Satisfaction Survey. We look forward to building on this success by helping buyers in Ross-on-Wye find their dream homes, very soon.”
