Hundreds of students self isolating at John Kyrle High School
In his end of term letter, Headteacher of John Kyrle High School, Nigel Griffiths, has confirmed that hundreds of students are self isolating following positive COVID-19 cases in years 7, 8 and 9.
He said: “We continue to·adapt to challenging logistical issues. This week we had to ask hundreds of students to self-isolate following positive cases in Years 7, 8 and 9. We worked closely with the local ‘Outbreak Control’ group, and we know our experience is mirrored in many other Herefordshire schools and across the country.
“Like all schools we faced uncertainty about how the pandemic would develop and the changing requirements needed to keep safe. We welcomed a new set of trustees. Teachers have set grades for all GCSE and A-Level students. Yet here we all are, smiling, looking forward to the end of term and excited about the future. We could not do any of this without your continued support. Thank you.”
