After damage to trees and buildings from Storms Eunice and Franklin flooding followed this week with river levels reaching just over 4.7m in Ross-on-Wye on Tuesday morning (22nd February).

Roads were affected including the B4234 at Bishopswood and Lower Lydbrook, Kerne Bridge was also impassable. In Ross-on-Wye itself Wye Street was blocked due to flood waters and Homs Road had a small flood by the car park during the day.

The impact of Storms Eunice and Franklin is still being assessed with a number of trees damaged in the area. A car was damaged on High Street after ridge tiles fell from a building during Storm Eunice, and another Ross resident had a lucky escape when a large tree fell in the opposite direction to his house. The entrance to The Crofts in the centre of town was also closed for some time due to falling debris from a building during Storm Eunice.
