Courtyard Hereford postpones pantomime
The Courtyard Hereford have announced they have postponed this year’s pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement on their Facebook page they said: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will be postponing this year’s pantomime, Jack & The Beanstalk until 2021/22.
“We are beyond devastated, that for the first time in 22 years, we will not be able to spread Christmas cheer over the festive period. We will miss the smiling faces, the laughing crowds, the singing schoolchildren and uniting friends and families to enjoy some quality time together.
“We really wanted to make it happen. We were adamant to create something uplifting, fun, light-hearted and entertaining, if not just to take everybody’s minds off this year for a few hours. We looked at every possibility. It wasn’t about the profit, as long as we broke even, and people were happy, that’s all that mattered. However, with the rise in cases again, predicted to worsen over winter, we just can’t risk it – for The Courtyard or our Community.
“We were overwhelmed by your support in our survey and are so grateful for all of those who took the time to help us gain more insight. With your continued encouragement and positivity, we will be back, bigger, bolder and better than ever!
“This has been a difficult year for everyone, but what matters most is that we all stay safe and well.
“Everyone who had tickets for Jack and the Beanstalk will be automatically moved to the equivalent date next year and notified by email shortly.
“Without panto, we face the most difficult times ahead. There are many ways you can support us, but the easiest, and most fun, is to buy your panto tickets for next year (if you haven’t already!).
“We are reinstating our Keen Bean offer and giving you a 15% discount if you book in 2020 with code GIANTSAVING. That way, you’ll get the best seats on your chosen date for less, and you’ll be supporting us through the biggest hardship we have ever faced. Thank you and stay safe.”
