Committee appeal for help to make community fun day a success
A newly-formed committee organising a family fun day at Walford Village Hall, near Ross-on-Wye, on Monday, August 29th, is appealing for help from the community to make the event a success.
The organisers are asking for stall holders to run traditional family games, entertainers and youth and community groups (including dancers, bands and performers) to take part in the event, which runs from 11am to 4pm.
They would also love a presence from businesses or organisations showcasing local produce such as sweets, confectionary, cakes, drinks, plants, flowers, artwork, jewellery and crafts, toys, books and hand-made or home-made gifts.
The Village Hall is a vital resource in the community and the recently re-launched a committee aims to revive the hall and build its profile. They are a not-for-profit charity and are keen to use the hall to serve the local community offering a wide range of classes, entertainment and a meeting place for the community.
Walford Village Hall trustee, Anthony Jones, said: “Our village hall is a great resource in the community and we really want more people to come along and use it.
“The village fun day is being organised to bring people together for a great day of fun and, at the same time, raise the profile of our village hall.”
The organisers would particularly like to hear from first aid providers and service clubs, including Rotary and Lions clubs, to support the event and ensure it runs smoothly.
Anyone who wants to support the event is asked to contact Anthony Jones at hello@walfordvillagehall.co.uk
