Cat found caught in illegal gin trap

A cat has been found this afternoon, Thursday 4th June, in Greytree, Ross-on-Wye with a gin trap attached to its foot.

The cat has been taken to the Vine Tree Vets, and we understand the police have been contacted.

The cat is not microchipped.

West Mercia Police said: “Cat injured in Ross-on-Wye after standing on a gin trap. The use of gin traps has been illegal in the UK since 1958 and setting a trap such as this is a criminal act.” If you have any information call the Police on 101 quoting incident number 0542S 040620
