BREAKING | Herefordshire man charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child following an incident in Hereford

A Herefordshire man has been charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, following an incident in Hereford.

The incident occurred at the Spur Retail Park in Hereford on Saturday, with a video of the arrest circulating on social media.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed that a man had been arrested and charged.

“Brendan Lawson, 42, of Henry Street in Ross-on-Wye has been charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child. 

“He appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on 29 May 2023, where he was remanded to appear at Worcester Crown Court on 14 June 2023.

“The charge is in relation to an incident at Spur Retail Park in Hereford on Saturday 27 May 2023.”
