It has been announced that Barclays Bank in Ross-on-Wye will be closing permanently on Thursday 5th August.

The closure means that the closest branches will now be in Monmouth, Hereford or Ledbury.

Barclays have published the following reasons for the closure:

• The number of counter transactions has gone up in the previous 24 months, however 80% of branch customers also use other ways to do their banking such as online and by telephone

• Customers using other ways to do their banking has increased by 11% since 2015

• In the past 12 months, 15% of this branch’s customers have been using nearby branches

• We’ve identified that only 44 customers use this branch exclusively for their banking
