A packed programme of entertainment awaits at family fun day
A packed programme of live entertainment, games including Splat the Rat, a bouncy castle and face painting will form the backdrop for Walford Village Hall’s big family fun day on August Bank Holiday Monday (August 29th, 2022).
The event at Walford Village Hall, near Ross-on-Wye, promises to be a day of fun in the sun for families with a range of stalls and events including a dog show and tempting treats from a plethora of food and drink stalls.
The Mayor of Ross-on-Wye, Cllr Ed O’Driscoll, will officially open the event, which runs from 11am to 4pm.
Singled Out, a popular live music band, willplay great pop and rock tunes, as families enjoy traditional games including Splat the rat, hook a duck, ring toss, and egg and spoon and sack races for all age groups.
A bouncy castle, kindly sponsored by Mega Bounce, will entertain the children and parents can take a look at the wide range of stalls ranging from hand-made accessories, beautiful home-made crafts, crochet, doggy fashions and upcycled toys, garden products and giftware and much more.
Delicious food and drink, ranging from tasty strawberries donated by EC Drummond Group, and Sue’s Cake Bakes to MINIYAKI’S – Japanese bakery goods, Soup by T, ice cream from Kelsmor Dairy, Vic’s Big Baps offering burgers, hotdogs, pork rolls, pizza and The Drunken Boar mobile bar.
Some great prizes can be won at our raffle, supported by the generous businesses in Ross-on-Wye.
The event will also be supported by a range of community groups including Ross and Monmouth Sea Cadets, Ross Royal British Legion and Scouts from the Ross district. Guests will also get the chance to learn about bee keeping and learn more about the Senior Staffy Club dog rescue.
Trustee Anthony Jones said: “We are excited about our fun day. We are so grateful to the many groups and businesses supporting us. We very much look forward to seeing people on the day.”
Car parking is available in the field at St Michael’s Church on the Walford Road. Entrance fee for adults is £1 with children and dogs free, with all takings at the gate being donated to Midlands Air Ambulance.
