West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses or information following an assault in Ross-on-Wye.

The incident happened in Brookend Street between 6.45pm and 7pm on Wednesday 31st March when a man is reported to have assaulted another man in an alleyway.

PC Daniel Underwood said: “I’d appeal to anyone who saw this incident to please get in touch with us. We believe there were members of the public shopping at a store opposite this alleyway at the time of the incident so it is possible that someone may have seen what happened.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact 101 quoting reference 584i of 31 March or alternatively information can be reported online through the Tell Us About section of the website.

If you have information but don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers. It is 100% anonymous, they never ask your name and they cannot trace your call or I.P address. You can contact them online or by calling 0800 555 111.

Officers arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of assault and he was later released on bail.
