Emergency services attended a search of the river in Ross-on-Wye last night after reports someone had fallen in.

A spokesperson for HWFRS told Ross-on-line: “Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Ross, Hereford and Worcester, including the Water First Responder and Swiftwater Rescue teams, plus the Service drone from Ledbury were called at 9.18pm on 20th April to a potential rescue from water near the Rope Walk in Ross-on-Wye.

”A thorough search of the area was undertaken by the Water First Responder and Swiftwater Rescue teams with the assistance of the drone but no person was located in the water or the surrounding area. The Fire Service and Ambulance were then released from the incident with the police checking further areas with a search dog.”

Ross-on-line has contacted West Mercia Police for any further update.
