Last night, Sunday 10th April, fire crews from Whitchurch Fire Station and Ross-on-Wye Fire Station extinguished a fire on Coppett Hill, Goodrich.

On arrival crews from Whitchurch found that the fire in the open involved hawthorn bushes and tree overhangs. Using beaters, water carried in portable aqua packs and a hose reel, crews were able to quickly get the fire under control and put it out before it spread.

A number of residents on social media reported seeing the large fire on the hill and praised the fire service for how quickly they arrived and put it out.
