Connexus, a housing group, have issued a warning to residents of Herefordshire following reports of cold calling from people claiming to work for Herefordshire Housing.

The cold callers are asking to enter gardens to carry out work. They are asking residents to be aware that Connexus teams do not conduct grounds maintenance work like this and almost always work in communal areas only. Colleagues will also always identify themselves as working for or on behalf of Connexus.

If you are unsure of the identity of someone claiming to work on behalf of Connexus, ask to see photo ID – all of their teams and contractors carry this.

You can check if someone works for or on behalf of Connexus by calling the Customer Service Team on 03332 31 32 33. If you’re feeling threatened or believe a crime is taking place, call the Police.
