Balfour Beatty have provided an update on the extensive repairs being carried out on the B4224 at Fownhope.

“Works are progressing on the B4224 which was closed due to a landslip following Storm Dennis. Excavation is being carried out currently with 4000 tonnes of soil being removed from the site.

“The road is expected to re-open in the Autumn.

“A temporary pedestrian walkway is in place to allow pedestrians to pass the site safely. Please can cyclists dismount before using the path”
