A few weeks ago we were all shocked and saddened to hear about a cat found caught in an illegal gin trap in Greytree, Ross-on-Wye.

Ross-on-line has received an update on how this poor puss is doing, and you will be pleased to hear he had a very lucky escape and is recovering very well.

He has been named Ginty and is now in the care of Cats Protection Forest of Dean. He had two puncture wounds in his paw but they are healing well with a course of antibiotics, so there is no amputation or major surgery needed. Ginty has now been neutered, and will be vaccinated and microchipped before he is put up for adoption in the coming weeks.

Many people expressed a wish to donate to help with the costs of treatment you can do so by sending a cheque made out to “FOD CP” to Cats Protection , Grove House, Pine Tree Way, Viney Hill, Lydney GL15 4NT or make a Bank Transfer to Sort Code 20 42 66. Account no 00166626. This will go straight to Cats Protection Forest of Dean, who rely on donations from the public.
