Traditional fete raises over £1000 for mental health charities
On 3rd September a traditional fete took place at St Mary’s Church Hall to raise money for mental health charities.
The event included Morris Dancers, splat the rat, cream teas, a Pimms tent and lots of fun for all ages.
The fete raised £1357 which was split between the local Samaritans, Herefordshire Mind and a mental health group member, Sarah, who is raising money for a much needed electric wheelchair.
Laura Pugh, one of the organiser of the event told Ross-on-Line: “It was an amazing day and it couldn’t have gone better. Crowds and crowds of people attended and at least 90% of the shops in Ross supplied amazing raffle prizes.
“It really was a day to remember. I am so proud of all the group. We were all out of our comfort zones but spent the whole day smiling. We rocked!”
