Ross-on-Wye Regatta cancelled
Due to the coronavirus pandemic Ross Regatta, which was scheduled to take place on the August Bank Holiday, has been cancelled. A spokesperson from Ross Rowing Club said: “Ross Rowing Club has been closely monitoring the Governments guidance and statements from British Rowing in regards to Ross Regatta 2020. After our discussions with various parties we have had to make the very difficult decision to cancel Ross Regatta 2020. This decision wasn’t easily made by the committee but it is for the safety of all our competitors and visitors. If it becomes possible to hold intra-club races (Phase D), or local inter-club private matches (Phase E), we will endeavour to organise a suitable event at short notice. Please keep an eye out on our social media for this.
“We look forward to bringing a bigger regatta for 2021. We hope you all are keeping safe and well during these difficult times and we will see you all again in 2021. Ross Regatta Team.”
