New Outdoor Learning Area opened at Much Birch Primary School
Much Birch Primary School were thrilled to welcome a representative body from their PTFA and local vicar Reverend Mark Johnson, to formally open their new ‘Much Birch Outdoor Learning Area’ on Tuesday 15th November.
A spokesperson told Ross-on-Line: “We are lucky to have an amazing Forest School area attached to our school grounds, gifted to us by some grandparents of current pupils. This Forest School area has now been improved further by the addition of a beautiful, bespoke outdoor learning canopy area. The area can seat a whole class and will be used for both Forest School and across the curriculum for all ages.
“We offer Forest School sessions to every year group from Reception to Year 6 every week at Much Birch. This area will enhance our award-winning provision to now focus on togetherness and community – in any weather.
“The canopy is vented so that the fire can be lit in all weathers – the children love to bake apples, bread and toast marshmallows!
“We would like to thank our supportive parents, the PTFA and our fantastic Forest School Team. Mrs Robbins, the Forest School lead, has tirelessly led this project and we are so grateful that our school can enhance our children’s outdoor provision even further with this fantastic asset.”
