JKHS says thank you and goodbye to Karen

After 14 years’ service to John Kyrle High School, Karen Slater is leaving to become a full-time foster carer.
Karen said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my 14 Years at John Kyrle and I will miss the students and staff. I have worked with a wonderful team and have felt completely supported. The key parts of my role were supporting literacy and being a form tutor. My tutor group now is 8Y, who I am leaving with a heavy heart, but I know they will be fine and will do well throughout their journey at John Kyrle.”
Headteacher, Nigel Griffiths, is sad to be losing such a valued member of his staff. He is, however, full of admiration for her decision to become a foster carer.
Mr Griffiths said he will be kept informed of Karen’s new role by her sister Kate, and brother, Andrew, who also work at John Kyrle.
