Essential Sewing Services based on Gloucester Road has been serving the residents and visitors of Ross-on-Wye for all their sewing needs since 2001.

Their team of highly knowledgeable staff have a combined sewing experience of over 100 years. They can supply you with everything you need, from sewing machine and patterns to a beautifully made bridal gown or prom dress with the perfect fit.

As well as quality alterations and repairs, they also sell sewing machines and offer servicing and repairs. During lockdown people found their passion for sewing, and Essential Seeing saw an unprecedented demand for sewing machines, with some manufacturers selling out.

Sewing is on the upturn and at Essential Sewing Services they can assist you with all your sewing needs. With recycling such a prominent issue at the moment, it is a great time to consider upcycyling and customisation of your clothes. They have a large range of quality haberdashery from the country’s leading supplier with beautiful patterns and fabrics perfect for dress making and craft use, including a variety of threads and ribbons.

Essential Seeing also stock fabric dyes, sewing boxes, scissors, dress linings and a good range of interfacings. Face masks made to order are also available. The team have created some beautiful masks for Remembrance Day priced at £8.50 per mask, with £1.50 going to the Royal British Legion. They are proving to be extremely popular, so orders are now being taken by contacting the shop directly. (Contact details below).

With Christmas fast approaching they have a beautiful selection of Christmas fabrics and ribbons now in store.

Due to the ongoing pandemic the shop is currently open for limited hours to keep customers and staff safe, and to guarantee they are still serving the town for years to come. The current opening times are: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10-3 and Saturday 10-2. However they are available 24/7 via phone on 01989 566406/07971 603656 or email enquiries@essentialsewing.co.uk

The staff are always happy to help and can offer online tutorials should you need help or advice with a project. Local deliveries and post is available for those who are self-isolating.
