It is understandable that in this warm weather people want to get out and enjoy the sun, however this morning there were numerous scorched patches of grass on the Rope Walk in Ross-on-Wye, caused by disposable BBQs.

With this long spell of dry weather disposable barbecues can pose a serious fire risk.

A message from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service: “We were called to over 60 BBQ incidents in last 10 years. So if you’re firing up the barbie in this amazing weather, don’t take one to the countryside or you could be grilling the field as well as the burgers.”
