30mph speed restriction imposed in Brampton Abbotts
A 30mph speed restriction has been imposed in the village of Brampton Abbotts to the delight of many residents.
For many years speed has been an issue on the road as you enter the village.
Local resident, Luci Bruins, told Ross-on-Line: “We are very pleased with the new 30mph here in the village. It was desperately needed as the road had become very dangerous. While some vehicles are adhering to the new speed limit, unfortunately there are still many who are not. It would be great to put measures in place to police the speed of vehicles through the village, as this may encourage more to slow down. Hopefully this is something we can look at in the near future. However, as a parent of a young family, I am very happy that the signs and limits have finally been actioned.”
A spokesperson for Oak House Nursery School said: “We are delighted to see the new speed restrictions imposed within the village and hope that all residents and visitors respect these new measures. The entrance to the village can be a busy place and we always impress upon our parents the importance of safety and consideration whilst travel to and from the nursery. The speed limits may read 30, but we would say 20 is plenty on these village lanes.”
Ross-on-Line has contacted Brampton Abbotts and Foy Group Parish Council for comment, but has not yet received a reply.
